Leigh Anderson's Racing History
In 1997, my career as a radio personality brought me to Los Angeles. It was there in Southern California that I got my first taste of motorcycling. I learned how to ride in the oceanside canyons of Malibu, the mountain switchbacks of Angeles Crest Highway and the traffic-swamped streets of Hollywood. After that craziness, racing would be a natural next step, right?
With less than three years of street riding under my belt, I jumped head-first into the highly-competitive and exhilarating world of motorcycle road racing. 2004 was my novice racing season with Northern California-based AFM. After earning my AFM expert status for the 2005 season, I began finishing higher and getting ready to move up from the 250 Production class where I got my start. For my third AFM season in 2006, I will be taking to the track on an SV650, racing 650 Twins and Formula IV.
When I'm not racing, I am dedicating my time and talent to furthering the sport. As an instructor for Zoom Zoom Trackdays, I get to mentor and help many track riders and potential new racers. I am especially fond of lending her insight to fellow women riders who have an interest in racing.
